Rocky Point Information

Puerto Peñasco is a corner of paradise on the Sea of Cortez, just 60 miles south of the U.S. border

Puerto Peñasco is where the desert meets the sea. We are located on the Sea of Cortez, about 60 miles south of Arizona, in the Mexican state of Sonora. We have the closest ocean beaches to many southwestern U.S. areas. We are only a four hour drive from Phoenix and Tucson Arizona. Because of our warm temperatures in the winter, many people visit us from the cold regions of the United States and Canada.

the water is clear for swimming, snorkeling, diving and many other water sports; the sun shines and the skies are blue about 360 days per year.

Puerto Peñasco has incredible crescents of white sand beach stretching for miles, dunes and deserts backed by stunning mountains, fine fishing and sailing, glorious blue skies and blue-green water. Puerto Peñasco also attracts a fair number of tourists. Beautiful beaches, good food and plenty of restaurants make this an ideal weekend getaway. Explore beautiful beaches such as Playa Arenosa (Sandy Beach), Cholla Bay, Playa de Oro, Playa Hermosa, Los Conchas, Mirador and Miramar.
